Another movie I just watched, The Blind Side. Tertarik sejak lihat trailer-nya, tambah tertarik setelah tahu Sandra Bullock menang Oscar atas perannya di film ini. Meskipun posternya menggambarkan individu dengan pakaian American football, film ini tidak bercerita tentang olahraga, tapi memang permainan tersebut memiliki peranan.
The Blind Side bercerita tentang ...the story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle.
Ceritanya sederhana, tapi dimainkan dan difilm-kan dengan bagus, sehingga tidak terlalu cheesy atau cetek, tidak berkesan menggurui, The Touhys sendiri juga tidak digambarkan sebagai keluarga yang terlalu baik atau sempurna.
Gak banyak yang bisa gue 'ceritakan', selain bilang bahwa ini film bagus, menarik untuk ditonton, dan menyentuh. Dan lagi, ini film memang based on true story, membuat film ini menjadi lebih menarik untuk ditonton :D
